Description "K. Seltler" Mystery Painting Original Art (1983). This one has us all stumped. It's marked "9-30-83 K. Seltler (?) Flimsy Picture Decadant Decadance (How I Miss It)". It certainly is a colorful illustration highlighted with touches of silver ink, and makes us think it could be a fashion sketch -- from another planet. At any rate, it measures 11" x 14", mixed media on sketchbook paper in Very Good condition, and it's up for grabs. Be bold and place a bid!

Posted by jesse edwards at 8:59 PM - No Comments   Add a Comment     (edit)  so this was first done for jes archives dot com and gone and forgotten project . but with all of these new sites on the web for free and some extra time and some new skills i have put these things together from web trash . if you are busy ingnore this . otherwise i have been working on a
couple of things here . with georgette in
france and me home alone . i have been doing this mailer demon art
thing
and also the cached text series . use and reuse , cycle and recycle .
from old suspended or cancelled web site from the past . paper mail is
on
the way and all of this web stuff is out of sight or site . this link ,
if it works as planned is to the xanga site and posting that i salvaged
from google . this was a page of the old jesarchives dot com site that
google cached . i copied it put it in xanga , cleaned it up and was
suprised that xanga picked up the moving type that i had put in the
original web page using front page . so after that and the learning
that i
gained there i recycled the dancing bazaar dot com page using the same
process . i did not pick up the flying text though as i had hoped .
anyway all of this happened since i saw creative thing and mike mollett
at
the loft gallery . they are old mail art friends from the 80's that i
do not see often or often enough .

so it looks like a big storm is here for awhile . no break in the rain for the dogs yet .

so it rained most of the day off and on. and we worked as we listened to the sounds of satalite radio . and of course i listened to bob dylan in the middle of the day . ballad of a thin man .

 SO THE DAY WAS WITHOUT RAIN AND WE WERE HAPPY .

so i just had a great time at this new years party with the group MUTAYTORS . . . .

- - on the road east of athens and the artists i met there

so it rained most of the day off and on. and we worked as we listened to the sounds of satalite radio . and of course i listened to bob dylan in the middle of the day . ballad of a thin man .

so i just had a great time at this new years party with the group MUTAYTORS . . . .

    AND THEN A BUSY DAY AT THE BEACH WITH SHERRY AND GEORGETTE . THEY PUT THE STORE BACK TOGETHER IN HALF A DAY AND IT LOOKED AS IF IT WAS PERFECT . I HAD BEEN IN THERE FOR THE LAST FIVE DAYS AND IT LOOKED AS IF I NEVER REFILLED ANYTHING . EVEN THOUGH I DID .

 SO THE DAY WAS WITHOUT RAIN AND WE WERE HAPPY .

now i sit at the keyboard in my bare feet and think how it came to be . the army taught me to type in 1968 and since then i have used their teachings a lot and if you are lucky you will have books instead of bullets to carry .i have carried both in my time and in my life i would carry books .
now i can remember how it was on the back of a bus with sandals on and how different it felt on the back of a truck with boots on . . . . . . . . .
. . . .I INVITE YOU TO THE PAGES OF THE PAST PRESENTED TODAY FOR THE FUTURE . WHILE HERE TRY TO REMEMBER THE TIMES YOU FELT GOOD AND SAFE AND THEN GET A PASSPORT AND A VISA AND LEAVE HOME AND SEE THE WORLD WITHOUT A HELMET AND BOOTS . . . . . . .
. . . . . . . SO WE WILL DISCUSS THE TRANSISTION FROM ASIA TO SAN FRANCISCO , AND THE ART UNDERGROUND OF THE CASTO DISTRICT . 232 SANCHEZ ST . WAS 2 BLOCKS FROM CASTRO AND IN THE LATE 70'S THE AREA WAS JUMPING . CHEAP RENT AND CHEAP RESTAURANTS . . . . . DICK'S BAR ON THE CORNER AND HAIGHT JUST UP THE HILL FROM THE CASTRO DISTRICT . MANY OF THE PEOPLE I MET ON THE ROAD TO INDIA ENDED UP IN THE BAY AREA IN THE LATE 70'S AND EARLY 80'S . AFTER ASIA IT WAS A GOOD PLACE TO READJUST TO THE WEST . SO I WENT TO THE CORNER BAR FOR THE FIRST TIME AND IT WAS THE HANGOUT FOR THE WHOLE NEIGHBORHOOD . OLD PEOPLE WITH CANES AND HEARING AIDS AND PUNKERS , TAXI DRIVERS , HOUSE PAINTERS , REAL ESTATE AGENTS AND OF COURSE POETS AND PAINTERS AND ROCK AND ROLLERS . . . . . .
. . . . . . and we did our share of damage to the day and night while we were there , and i pleade guilty to being a loud neighbor . . . . . . . . .
